WOMEX is the world's biggest professional music Conference, Trade Fair and Showcase Festival for World, Roots, Folk, Ethnic, Traditional, Alternative World, Local and Diaspora music. It's a Europe-based event, produced by Piranha Arts, which runs through the last October weekend of every year. Its first edition was in Berlin, in 1994.
