The guitar naturally determines the first impression through its high pitches. But the drums change in many places from rhythm giver to duet partner. The basic melodies of the Beatles songs are still recognizable in many places, but in many passages the two musicians wander into the higher spheres of the
improvisations. However, they always manage to float back from these higher spheres to the basic melody of the song. The songs are based on the typical basic pattern of jazz songs. The musicians start with a basic melodic pattern. Then the musicians increase the tension on the musical path through improvisations. In the process, both musicians head for the same musical destination point, at which the original basic melodic pattern is recalled. The musicians usually keep the improvisation rather short and thus give the songs an often peculiar tension. Particularly striking at some points, however, is the way the two musicians increase into an improvisational duet during the song....
